The Back to School Project
Helping Students Start the School Year with Confidence
The start of a new school year should be filled with excitement and opportunity, but for many children, it also brings uncertainty. The cost of backpacks, school supplies, clothing, shoes, and other essentials can be a significant burden for families already facing difficult circumstances.
This year, Homesteaders for the Holidays is proud to support two organizations through our Back to School Project: a local Domestic Violence Shelter and a Foster Girls' Home.
Children at both organizations are preparing for a new school year, but their needs are unique. To ensure every child receives the items that will help them most, we have created two separate Amazon Wish Lists, allowing supporters to shop directly for either organization.
Whether it's a backpack filled with school supplies, a new pair of shoes, classroom essentials, or everyday necessities, every donation helps a child begin the school year with confidence and hope.

Our Partner Organizations
Domestic Violence Shelter
Many children arrive at the shelter with very few belongings after leaving unsafe situations. Your donations help provide backpacks, school supplies, clothing, shoes, and everyday essentials so they can begin the school year feeling prepared, supported, and ready to learn.

Foster Girls' Home
Girls living in foster care often need more than school supplies. Many are rebuilding their confidence while preparing for a new school year. Donations will help provide backpacks, school supplies, clothing, personal care items, and other essentials that support both their education and their well-being.
This year, funds raised through the Back to School Project will provide the girls living at the Foster Girls' Home with a Back-to-School Shopping Spree. Instead of receiving donated clothing, each girl will have the opportunity to shop for her own school wardrobe, choosing clothes and shoes that fit her personality, style, and needs.
For many of these girls, this experience is about much more than clothing. It's about confidence, independence, and the simple joy of getting to make choices for themselves.
You can help make this special day possible by making a monetary donation through this page or by donating gift cards to participating retailers. Every contribution helps create a memorable experience and ensures each girl begins the school year feeling confident, valued, and ready to succeed.

Every Child Deserves a Great Start
A backpack is more than a backpack. A new pair of shoes is more than a new pair of shoes. These simple items tell a child they matter, they are cared for, and they are ready to succeed.
Together, we can help students begin the school year with confidence, dignity, and the tools they need to thrive.
Thank you for supporting the Homesteaders for the Holidays Back to School Project and helping children start the school year with hope.
